Foundations, driveways and patios for a small city near Loop 360 with big rules of its own. DB Concrete has 25+ years of pouring in the hills west of Austin.
George B. Hatley started Rollingwood in 1955. It became a city by 1963. It sits near Loop 360, about six miles west of downtown Austin, and is home to about 1,500 people.
Lots here are at least 15,000 square feet. Homes must have at least 1,800 square feet of floor space. Many of the first houses are now being rebuilt or added onto. That means new foundations next to older ones, and new driveways on lots that were laid out 70 years ago.
These rules come from Rollingwood's own code. We plan every job around them.
In Rollingwood, a protected tree is a listed kind with a trunk 12 inches or more across. A heritage tree is 24 inches or more. The root zone counts one foot out for every inch of trunk.
Taking out a protected tree needs a permit. So we plan forms, trucks and grading to stay out of the root zone from the first visit.
Rollingwood cares how a home meets the ground. On a sloped lot, the side of a slab can stand tall. The city says no more than 2.5 feet of it can show from the street without a screen.
We plan the foundation height, the grade and the finish together. That way the house meets the rule and looks good doing it.
We walk the lot with you. We look at the slope, the trees, the access, and where the water goes.
You get an accurate takeoff and a written price. No guesswork and no surprise change orders.
We plan the work to Rollingwood's own code. We also work with your builder, engineer and other trades.
We place and finish the concrete with care. Then we clean up and walk the job with you.

Yes. Rollingwood asks for a city permit for new hard surface. We plan the size so it fits the city's limits before you apply.
No. Rollingwood allows building work on weekdays only, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We set the schedule around that from the start.
We mark its root zone first and keep trucks and forms out of it. If a protected tree has to come out, it needs a city permit.
